Milani Rose Blushes 2015

Milani has come out with three new Rose blushes in 2015, but this time with shimmers and sparkles. The regular Rose blushes are matte, which is what I usually prefer. However, when I came across these new ones on the Cocktail website I had to try them out.

From left to right: American Beauty Rose, Blossomtime Rose, Awakening Rose

Close-up look and swatches of the three colours in daylight

Awakening Rose:

This is the lightest shade, it is a mauve, cool tone blush with silver shimmer. The texture is the smoothest out of the three and is a flattering colour on my skin tone (MAC NC25-30). This is also the most versatile colour with most makeup looks. However, it may look ashy on those with dark medium to deep skin tones.

Blossomtime Rose:

This is a good enough dupe for the NARS Org; blush, with that very heavy warm/ gold sheen to it, but no sparkly bits. Like the NARS blush I don't personally find it very wearable. But I am aware that most people seem to love this sort of blushes. So if you're a fan of the NARS blush you will like this. This would be a flattering colour for any skin tone. As for the texture, I find it a little dry.

American Beauty Rose:

This would have to be my least favourite out of the three. It is a hot pink blush with very noticeable sparkly glitter bits that do transfer to the skin. It is difficult to buff out the sparkles without removing the colour.
The texture is very dry and chalky and requires a little building up for a good colour pay off, even though it is the darkest shade out of the three.

To conclude, I have to say I'm a little disappointed, as I had high expectations from all the positives reviews I've read about the matte collections. Having said all that, they are not bad for the price. I do like them, just not as good as I expected them to be. So I will be making use out of them.

Hope this was a helpful review.

Have fun shopping!
